This is a time-sensitive call for action, so please pay attention to this post, and spread the word among your friends. The Westborough Public Library is holding a Poetry Night Open Mic next Wednesday, on August 9th, 2023. A longtime extreme right-wing town resident has not only registered to participate, but wrote and submitted an unhinged rant against Black Lives Matter, "the trans agenda", the library, the local government - you name it.
We won't post his rant on this page to avoid spreading it, but if you want to see his written ugliness for yourself, email us. And it is his constitutional right to freedom of speech to read this ugly “poem” at the library’s Poetry Night Open Mic.
We are hoping to get folks to come and counteract this hatred by reading their favorite poetry about inclusivity, equity, and love. It can be written by you, but it does not have to be.
